Manufacture of Alcoholic Preparations in bonded Laboratory

The steps to manufacture alcoholic preparations in bonded laboratory are:

Procurement/ Collection of Rectified Spirit: Rectified spirit required for the manufacture of obtained from a counter signed by the officer in-charge of the laboratory, from any approved spirit warehouse either situated in the same state or another state. 

Verification and storage of the rectified Spirit Received: The volume and the strength of the rectified spirit is checked and verified by the excise officer and then stored in the Raw Spirit Store from where it can be issued for manufacturing alcoholic products. 

Issue of the spirit from the spirit Store: The manufacturer Request the calculated quantity of spirit to the officer in-charge of the laboratory. The officer in-charge shall issue the same amount of spirit from the spirit store. The spirit must be mixed with other ingredients immediately in the presence of the officer in-charge of the lab. 

Store of  Finished Products: The finished products should be stored as bulk in jars or Bottles, each containing not less than 2.25 Liter of the preparation and must be labelled with the batch no and other essential descriptions. the containers should be arranged in racks for the ease of identification. 

Issue of Alcoholic preparations from the bonded laboratory: The prepared alcoholic preparations can be taken out of the bonded laboratory with the permission of the officer in-charge of the laboratory only after the payment. 

Deficiencies in finished store: A record is prepared and maintained by the officer in-charge in store of finished product to catch if there is any shortage of finished products are there or not. 

Disposal of substandard preparations: If the quality of the finished product does not comply with the official standards, the manufacturer must destroy the product after getting the permission from the Excise Commissioner. 

Disposal of Recovered Alcohol: Alcohol recovered in the process of manufacturing of medicinal or toilet preparations must be collected separately.
